SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CLINIC
Botox Injections for
Forehead and Eyelid Wrinkles
HOW DO THE LINES APPEAR?
Each line is formed by loose skin gathering up above a contracting muscle. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a chemical that weakens muscles for several months.

HOW IS BOTOX® COSMETIC USED?
By injecting small amounts of this chemical into the muscles around the eyes, brows and forehead, the muscles that create the smile and frown lines are weakened. Without the normal muscle strength, frown and wrinkle lines disappear or are greatly diminished. The injections, using very tiny needles to minimize discomfort, take a few minutes to perform. The effects of the injections typically take from two to four days to appear and last for up to four months.

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY PERIOD AFTER THE INJECTIONS?
Performed in the office, the simple, safe procedure takes about 10 minutes. Since the procedure is non-surgical, no recovery time is needed. After a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment, you can get back to work or other activities right away.

WHAT KIND OF SIDE EFFECTS CAN I EXPECT?
The most common side effects following the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic are headache (13.3%), respiratory infection (3.5%), temporary eyelid droop (3.2%), nausea (3.0%), and flu syndrome (2.0%). Less frequently occurring (<3%) adverse reactions included pain in the face, redness at the injection site, and muscle weakness. These events are thought to be associated with the injection and usually occur within the first week.

Skin Rejuvenation and Hair Removal
Choosing a medical treatment solution for beautiful skin was once a confusing and difficult decision.  Many methods and technologies promise the best results, but most fall short.

elos, the revolutionary new technology found only in Syneron aesthetic systems, has changed everything.   Simply put, elos is proven to be the safest, most effective and comfortable solution for the superior results you demand for the following:

Hair removal Safe hair removal of all colors (including white, grey, red and blonde) from all skin types, including tanned skin.

Skin treatment: Comfortably treat Rosacea, spider veins, and skin imperfections caused by sun damage, red and brown spots.

Acne treatment Clear skin through selective targeting of the sebaceous glands and acne bacteria?.

How does elos work:
elos (electro-optical synergy) uses a unique combination of radio frequency and light to isolate the treatment area and leave the surrounding skin free from potentially harmful side effects.  Using gentle pulses of two targeted energies means better results with lower overall energy output, assuring the highest level of safety and comfort.

Treatment with elos produces a slight tingling feeling, and on the most sensitive areas of the skin, patients may only feel a quick, light pinch.  Side effects are very rare.

elos procedures require no sedation.  The average procedure takes less than 30 minutes to perform.  Immediately following your procedure, you can return to work or your daily schedule with no problem.

Blepharoplasty
What is a blepharoplasty?  Blepharoplasty (or eyelid surgery) is a procedure to remove fat, excess skin and muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelids.  Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below the eyes, which can create that old, tired look and may even interfere with vision.  It can also lift sagging eyebrows.

The best candidates for eyelid surgery are men and women who are physically healthy, psycho-logically stable, and realistic in their expectations.  Most are 35 or older, but if droopy, baggy eyelids run in your family, you may decide to have eyelid surgery at a younger age.

If you are considering eyelid surgery, please call us to arrange for a free consultation.  We will give you a basic understanding of the procedure:  when it can help, how it is performed, and what results you can expect.

Bifocal Lens Implants
Dr. Veith became certified on June 21, 2005 to use a revolutionary implant for cataract surgery.  This new lens is a bifocal implant made by Alcon and approved by the FDA.  In clinical studies, 80% never used glasses after surgery.  Glare is a problem in 4%.

Medicare pays only the "usual and customary" fee for an implant lens, and this lens is more expensive, so the patient is responsible for the difference.

Dr. Veith has implanted the monofocal version of the lens, exclusively, for over 10 years.  The surgery is the same, but the bifocal visual outcome is much better.  Certain patient parameters must be met.  Not all patients will qualify for this lens.

If you are interested, please contact the Veith Eye Clinic for an appointment and/or additional information.

Restylane®
What is Restylane?  Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.

Can Restylane be used anywhere on the face?  Restylane has been used in more than 1.5 million treatments in over 60 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles.  In the U.S., the FDA has approved Restylane for wrinkles and folds like the ones from the nose to the corners of the mouth.

How long does Restylane last?  Restylane is proven to deliver long-lasting results.  Studies have shown that Restylane effects generally last for about six months!  Restylane's stabilization technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is nearly gone.

How is Restylane different from Botox® Cosmetic?  Restylane is a natural, cosmetic filler.  In contrast, Botox Cosmetic is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles.  Many patients have been pleased after receiving treatment with both products.

Why wait?  If you want to enjoy a smoother, more youthful appearance for about six months, ask Dr. Veith if Restylane is right for you!
